This Coconut Grove residence was transformed through a complete home remodel shaped around the owners’ love of art, books, travel, and collected objects. The scope combined architectural improvements with bespoke interior design, including a custom staircase, three bathroom remodels, a fully integrated customized kitchen, a gallery-like media wall and great room, a richly atmospheric parlor library, and a romantic primary suite.
Exterior work consisted of structural repairs, repainting, front entry awning, lighting and landscape improvements as well as new pool patio tile and furnishings to complete the transformation. Exclusively to Design created a home with stronger flow, enhanced character, and a more fully resolved relationship between the home’s architecture and modern daily living.

Parlor Library Transformation
The former living room was reimagined as an intimate parlor library designed for conversation, reading, and quiet retreat. Deep teal walls and custom fluted floor-to-ceiling bookcases wrap the room, framing the entry doors and creating a dramatic library atmosphere. A striking violet marble fireplace anchors the space, while sculptural seating and expressive artwork introduce a sense of personality and discovery. The result is a richly atmospheric room that sets the tone for the entire home remodel.
The dining room was inspired by a jeweled peacock artwork that became the visual centerpiece of the space. Rich textures and deep teal abaca wall covering create a dramatic backdrop, while sculptural dining chairs and layered lighting introduce warmth and movement. Designed as an immersive dining experience, the room balances color, artistry, and texture to create a memorable gathering space within the home.
Art-Inspired Dining Room Design
Jewel-Box Tropical Powder Room
The powder room was developed as a jewel-box moment within the home, introducing bold pattern, richer contrast, and a more immersive atmosphere. Botanical wallcovering, carved detailing, and warm metallic accents create a compact space with outsized character, allowing it to reinforce the project’s expressive design language rather than disappear into the background.
Architectural Kitchen Remodel
The kitchen was redesigned to anchor the open living areas of the home with a cleaner architectural presence and stronger day-to-day function. A fully integrated cabinet wall, accented by a matte gold metallic hexagon mosaic backsplash with a lit gallery cabinetry, organized inserts, and professional appliances create a highly resolved composition, while the island introduces both workspace and seating. Matte gold mosaic detailing adds a controlled layer of glamour without disrupting the clarity of the design.
Gallery Great Room with Concealed Media Wall
The great room was conceived as a gallery-like living space centered around a custom media wall designed to house an eighty-inch television while showcasing the owners’ collected objects. Sliding panels allow the screen to disappear when not in use, revealing open shelving that frames artifacts and collectibles in a more curated presentation. The result is a room that balances comfort, display, and visual drama without losing its livability.
Romantic Primary Suite Retreat
The primary bedroom was conceived as a softer, more intimate counterpoint to the dramatic entertaining spaces elsewhere in the home. A hand-painted mural, washed metallic finishes, sculptural bedside lighting, and a quieter palette create a room that feels serene, enveloping, and deliberately set apart — a retreat designed for rest without losing the project’s overall sophistication.
Custom Staircase as an Architectural Focal Point
A custom staircase was introduced as a defining architectural feature within the residence, giving the vertical circulation of the home greater presence, rhythm, and visual continuity. The iron detailing, sculptural chandelier, and surrounding composition create a stronger sense of arrival while reinforcing the artistic character that runs throughout the project.
Exterior Remodel and Pool Patio Transformation
The exterior was refreshed through a broader home remodeling scope that included façade refinishing, pool patio repairs, lighting improvements, landscape work, and related property updates. These changes strengthened the connection between the home and its outdoor spaces while giving the residence a more polished, cohesive presence from the moment of arrival.
