Reimagining a Waterfront Residence for the Way Our Clients Live
Nestled within Miami’s prestigious Venetian Islands, this waterfront residence presented an extraordinary opportunity to completely rethink how luxury living could unfold. Purchased sight unseen by bi-coastal homeowners, the home offered exceptional natural light, expansive pool views, and remarkable potential—but its compartmentalized layout concealed the openness and effortless flow today’s luxury lifestyle demands.
Rather than beginning with finishes or furnishings, we began with the people who would call this home their own. Every decision was guided by how they wanted to live, entertain, relax, and reconnect with family and friends. Working in collaboration with our construction partners, we transformed a series of disconnected rooms into a cohesive, light-filled residence centered around indoor-outdoor living, refined materials, and enduring craftsmanship.

The Living Room: Custom Masonry & Textural Focal Point
The interior design concept showcases a custom texture-rich media wall that anchors the expansive room with contemporary drama. The sophisticated seating area features a tailored sofa from Restoration Hardware, upholstered in ultra-luxurious performance fabric from David Sutherland. This is balanced by statement chairs and a striking, sculptural three-tier stacking coffee table from Artefacto, featuring a dynamic mix of metallic finishes and a premium black quartz top on the dominant table to create a layered, multi-dimensional centerpiece.
By removing four obstructive columns and partnering with a structural engineer for a 20-foot steel support beam, the sunken dining room now flows seamlessly into the tropical Miami landscape.
Creating an Open-Concept Transformation
Originally a disjointed, narrow space separated by four obtrusive columns, this area required complete re-structuring. Collaborating closely with our general contractor and structural engineer, the columns were removed entirely and a massive 20-foot steel beam was installed to safely span and open up the dramatic, sunken dining room. To maximize the newly framed, lush tropical views, we anchored the space with a deep, dramatic dining table contrasted by crisp, tailored white side chairs on casters. Overhead, a spectacular linear antique brass, crystal chandelier echoes the sleek lines of the space, turning a hard-to-furnish transition zone into the ultimate entertaining destination.
A layout triumph: rotating the room orientation counterclockwise allows the custom caviar leather bed to face the pool, backed by a floating chevron accent wall that cleverly conceals a walk-in closet.
Layout Reconfiguration & Textural Opulence
The original master suite suffered from a major layout misstep, placing the bed parallel to the outdoor pool view, with an oppressive row of built-in wall closets at the bedroom entry. To correct this, our team executed an overall spatial redesign. A wide partition wall float at the center of the large room to separate the space and placing the bed directly in front of the french doors for a view of the lush pool landscape. Then, an ample private, walk-in organized closet was built and tucked seamlessly behind the bed wall, easily accessed from each side of the decorative, floating partition.
We enveloped this new feature wall in a dramatic, large-scale chevron wood-cut wallcovering to anchor a bespoke bed tailored in caviar pebble leather and refined nailhead trim. Symmetrical floating pendants hang in front of floor-to-ceiling mirrors, beautifully reflecting the outdoor pool. The bed is styled with crisp Italian percale and a cashmere throw, resting on a flannel-ribbed rug. This curated aesthetic flows right into the master bath, where we corrected a puzzling original footprint that awkwardly placed an exterior door leading onto a side-yard concrete patio. Through our specialized master ensuite design approach, we restored privacy to the space, tying the entire suite together with a sleek, large-profile, cement-look porcelain tile that runs seamlessly throughout the residence.

The Custom Kitchen: Bold & High-Contrast Artistry
While the bi-coastal clients originally envisioned a predictable, all-white kitchen, the space was elevated into a bespoke culinary showcase using bold, high-contrast drama. The sleek white custom cabinetry was configured through our specialized kitchen design to maximize storage, dynamicized by magnificent quartz slabs featuring a pure, brilliant white ground accented by massive, painterly black veins—the striking Blanco Absoluto quartz. These artistic slabs were meticulously book-matched to waterfall down the massive central island and carry seamlessly up the full-height backsplash. Built for elite entertaining and effortless workflow, this professional-grade space integrates a premium Viking range, a fully integrated Sub-Zero refrigerator, and a massive custom hidden pantry, proving through our interior design portfolio that high-performance utility can look absolutely breathtaking.
